  • Limit Irritants

The first thing to do is to avoid the use of lipstick and other lip colouring agents. If you don’t want to go without makeup, then apply lip gloss instead. This will look just as good as a lipstick but still allow your lips to breathe.

Use a lip balm that is not too greasy or thick. Also if you are using other products, like sunblock lotion, then try using other lip products first.

  • Moisturize

  • Apply Tea Tree Oil

Take few drops of tea tree oil on a cotton swab, gently dab it on your lips, and leave it on for 10 minutes. This will help in treating the affected area. Make sure that you don't let tea tree oil touch any other skin or else you might end up irritating your skin. 

  • Exfoliate your Lips

If you have a lip rash or a sore spot, exfoliate it by mixing one tablespoon of honey with two tablespoons of sugar. Massage the mixture to your lips and let it dry for 10 minutes. Remove with the help of a wet face washer. Sugar is a natural exfoliant that can give moisturizing benefits when combined with honey.

  • Apply Lip Hydration Mask

Lips can easily become chapped and dry if you do not keep them hydrated. You can try out some lip hydration masks that will keep your lips hydrated and moist at all times. Also, keeping your lips hydrated will reduce the risk of developing lip rashes.

Following a lip care routine will protect your lips from irritants. Exfoliate it from time to time with a gentle lip scrub and use a lip mask once a week to prevent itchy lips.
